Collection is used for more detailed work with records, it contains more features than Preview.

In the Collection, you can work with functions that we know from Preview, see Preview features with some additions specific for Collection.
The field search works the same as in Preview. You can add/hide fields from the menu, use boolean operators and regular expression.
In this menu you can find more advanced searching/filtering possibilities:
Hitsets - here you can combine your search strategies with previously saved searches.
Subsets - you can combine your preset subset and search for the term e.g. only in some of them
Ratings - easily find which articles you have rated e.g. as the best or which one are still waiting to be examine
Tags - choose which tags your selected articles should have
To specify if the search should omit eg. my own tags untick “me”:
Filtering references allows you to narrow down your search results based on common criteria such as publication year, author, or source (journal name) or little bit more specific like your own keywords. Same functions as in Preview, apart from subset, comment, attachment and duplicates filters.
Filtering can be activated in two positions by clicking on the dot:
REQR. = Require: the selected criterion must be satisfied
EXCL. = Exclude: the selected criterion must not be satisfied
